WHO ARE WE?

SAVE Rivers is a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) which supports and empowers rural communites to protect their land, rivers and watersheds through capacity building, networking, research, education and advocacy. We have promoted environmental and indigenous rights awareness and sustainable development solutions since 2011. 

THIS POST GIVES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SELECTED CANDIDATE TO:

Facilitate community engagement and forest protection projects in the Baram area, where our team is working in collaboration with the communities, local and international organisations (government and non-government institutions)  to implement the Upper Baram Forest Area (Baram Peace Park) which is a forest protection and regenerative livelihood initative. 

Based at SAVE Rivers’ office in Miri, the selected candidate must have passion for the environmental justice, high professional standards and be ready to travel as, when and where required by the job.  Remuneration while on three months probation is RM1600. Once employed, wage will be based on competencies and performances. 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor Degree Holder or Diploma Holder. 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Between 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience & competency.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Strong written and verbal skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Fluent in Sarawak’s local indigenous languages (i.e. languages from Dayak groups) is a requirement.
